The Council of Affiliated Regional Radiation Oncology Societies (CARROS) was jointly founded by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) in 1978. Since 1986, CARROS has been a chapter of the ACR serving to promote activity in radiation oncology through the ACR at the local and regional level. Additionally, CARROS -
Serves as a mechanism to develop consensus on issues in radiation oncology and to transmit information to CARROS members and to the parent organizations;
Provides the radiation oncology membership of the ACR with a dedicated seat on the ACR Council, and
Provides a pathway to Fellowship in the ACR for radiation oncology and medical physics members.
